Camelback Resort

CAMELBACK

Artica Design was involved in conjunction with Lococo Company in the launch of Camelback Resort in the Pocono Mountains, PA. Originally a ski resort, Camelback developed a lodge and indoor waterpark resort to extend their customer base to a year-round destination and provide accommodation to their winter sports guests.

PRE-LAUNCH

To celebrate their 50th Anniversary, a prelaunch mailer was released.
To make the new resort truly unique, a storyline concept was developed around a fictional explorer named Sir Kartrite who traveled the world and brought back tales and treasures to his home base of Camelback. This storyline allowed the design and marketing to follow in its wake.

Waterpark Logo Design

The first design project was to develop a logo identity for the indoor waterpark. From the storyline of worldwide adventures and travels, I developed the Aquatopia Logo with the lost city of Atlantis in mind, in a symmetrical sweeping font over a compass motif in the colors of aqua for water and burnished distressed, gold.

GROUP SALES

The main challenge in developing group sales materials for the resort was it wasn't built yet. There were no images to use of the building or facilities, only an architectural rendering that wasn't very glamorous.
Given the storyline of ancient artifacts and world travel, I went with a graphic approach creating an old relic folder with silver clasps containing the sales kit. The cover is done in distressed layers to make it look worn and old. I used Moroccan patterns and a logo wax seal.
